East Coast Aero Club - Student Solos
There are certain parts of your training that you will never forget. High on this list are your first solo flights. In your training you will have two "first" solo flights: Your first solo flight, and your first solo cross-country flight.
Flying solo is a major milestone. It means you have convinced your instructor, an experienced pilot, that you can safely operate the airplane alone, unsupervised, and assume all of the duties and responsibilities of Pilot in Command. Your training has shown you that this is no small task. It requres concentration, skill, and knowledge.
This is not something that your instructor gives you. It is something you earn. When you get that endorsement in your log book you have a right to be proud. Sure, you've enjoyed your training, but you've also put in a lot of work
Here we recognize the accomplishments of our students that are the result of dedication and hard work. We share in their pride, and offer our congratulations of this huge step on their way to being a licensed pilot.
Chris accomplished this milestone in his training at the age of 16. In fact, he did it on his 16th birthday, which is the minimum age to fly solo under FAA Regulations.
Now there's something to be proud of, Congratulations from everyone at ECAC !
