East Coast Aero Club - Airport Resources
ATTENTION STUDENTS AND RENTERSAs of May 30, 2000 East Coast Aero Club has adopted the following runway minimums for all ECAC aircraft: Pilots are permitted to land ECAC Aircraft on runways meeting the following criteria:
1. 3,000 feet, or more, in length ** EXCEPTIONS MADE IN CASE OF EMERGENCIES ** Like any good rule, there are exceptions. The following is a list of airports that are approved even though they are short and/or dirt/grass strips. APPROVED AIRPORTS
All airports with hard surfaced runways more than 3,000 feet in length, and; Additional exceptions may be maded on a case by case basis, and require prior approval by ECAC Staff. The NOT APPROVED list below is a list of airports we want to call particular attention to as airports we do not permit our airplanes to land at. Airports less than 3,000 feet, and/or unimproved/grass/dirt that are not on this list should not be considered approved merely by their ommission. ALL airports not meeting the 3,000 foot, hard surface requirements are prohibited unless a specific exception is requested and approved prior to the flight. The following list of airports are specifically NOT APPROVED for use with ECAC Aircraft: NOT APPROVED (PROHIBITED) AIRPORTS
Alton Bay Your cooperation is appreciated.
Like most flight schools, there are airports that our instructors take students to more often than others. Maybe because it's easier to find on that "first" solo cross country, maybe because the airport has a tower, maybe because it doesn't. Whatever the reason, there are those that our students are exposed to more than others during their initial training. In order to help you fly these airports, we have compiled a list of them, along with their radio frequencies:
This list is supplied for the convenience of ECAC Students, Instructors and Rental Customers. While every effort is made to ensure that the list is current, it should not be relied upon as an official source of flight planning or flight information. Pilots should consult appropriate charts and the current Airport Facilities Directory to ensure that they have the correct and current frequencies for the airports they intend to use.
